My passion for technology has taken me from the Azores Islands to the world of consulting, entrepreneurship, and corporate leadership. Here's my story.
All Started on an Island…
I was born in the Azores Islands, Portugal, a group of nine islands lost in the Atlantic Ocean between Lisbon and New York. Though I spent a few early years in Lisbon, I was fortunate to enjoy most of my childhood in the Azores, surrounded by nature and beaches.

My passion for technology began with my first personal computer, a Sinclair ZX81, quickly upgraded to the Sinclair ZX Spectrum. At the age of 11, I discovered the world of programming and was captivated by what could be achieved using BASIC as a programming language.
University Days
I studied Computer Engineering at the University of Minho, then the most prestigious university in Portugal. I learned Programming Paradigms using Java, a language only two years old at the time.
Consulting Journey
I joined Accenture in Madrid knowing little more than “Hola” and “Adiós”. Over fourteen years in consulting I led architecture and delivery teams for banks, insurers and telecoms across Europe and Latin America.
Entrepreneurial Endeavors
I founded and ran a self-funded digital health marketplace for over ten years, and later led product at a second company. I worked hard, made mistakes, learned from them, and celebrated successes.
Returning to Corporate Life
I returned to the corporate world to lead engineering and technology teams. Today I lead technology for a portfolio of products in regulated financial services, including the adoption of AI across the organisation.
